Stephanie & Luke: A Fiji Wedding Packed with Love, Laughter, and Unforgettable Moments
Some weddings just have that special sauce. And this one? Absolutely. Sometimes it’s the couple, sometimes it’s the venue, and sometimes it’s just the vibe of everyone in the room. Stephanie & Luke’s wedding was a bit of all three, and what a party it was.
When Stephanie first reached out to me about heading to Fiji, I assumed it would be a smaller, elopement-style affair – after all, how many friends and family would actually make the trip? Turns out, lots. People came from all over the world to celebrate these two, and honestly, it showed exactly how loved they are.
My day started with the girls getting ready, and the energy was infectious. Laughter, hair, makeup, champagne – everything buzzing around. Stephanie’s dress moment was quiet and intimate: tucked away in her room with her mother and maid-of-honour, slipping into her gown, fastening her grandmother’s pearls, sharing those little mother-daughter moments that are just perfect. Then came the big reveal – Stephanie in her gown, greeted by gasps, tears, and tight embraces, the kind of moments that stick with you forever
I slipped away to catch the boys before the ceremony. Luke was trying to hide it, but the nerves were thick in the air. And the chapel! Whitewashed walls, glass-covered altar, crystal-clear Pacific as the backdrop, and a Fijian choir adding a magical touch. Stephanie walked down the aisle with her parents, everyone in awe, especially Luke. The ceremony was full of love and just the right amount of laughter, they sealed it with a kiss, signed the register, and then walked back down the aisle together through a shower of confetti – it always makes it feel like a celebration in slow motion.
Post-ceremony, we grabbed some family and bridal party photos before mingling on the lawn with drinks and canapés. As the sun dipped, I stole the couple away for a few intimate shots – Shangri-La’s grounds are a photographer’s dream, with backdrops that change with every step.
The reception kicked off with the bridal party making a grand entrance, followed by Stephanie & Luke popping champagne like pros. Speeches were equal parts heartfelt and roast-worthy, then came dinner, cake cutting, and the father/daughter and mother/son dances. Finally, Stephanie & Luke took to the floor for their first dance – a genuinely beautiful, quiet moment amid the party. And then… everyone joined them, letting loose and celebrating all night.
It was such a memorable day for such a beautiful couple. The love, the laughter, the energy – it all came together perfectly. Honestly, weddings like this remind me why I do what I do. Congrats lovers.
