Shaye & Fraser | Farm & Co Tweed Coast Wedding
Their brief? “A long lunch that we get married at.” And they couldn’t have done it better.
I started the day with the girls getting ready at a nearby Airbnb. Spirits were high as hair and makeup were finishing up. I grabbed some candid shots before it was time for Shaye’s dress to come on – such a beautiful, quiet moment shared between her and her mum.
When she was ready, Shaye made her way down the stairs for a reveal for her bridesmaids and her dad. Tears all round. After a few shots with the bridal party and some solo portraits, it was time for me to head to the venue.
Once at Farm & Co, I found the boys getting ready, pinning on their boutonnieres. We snapped a few quick photos together, I never push the guys too much at this stage (most men hate being in front of the camera, and I want them still smiling for the good stuff later).
When it was time for the ceremony, everyone gathered in the garden, buzzing with excitement. Shaye entered the garden with her bridesmaids, meeting her parents halfway to walk her the rest of the way. It was a beautiful moment, and Fraser couldn’t take his eyes off her. The ceremony was heartfelt and full of laughter. After their “I do’s,” Fraser gave a triumphant fist pump before the two walked back down the aisle through a storm of confetti.
Hugs, cheers, and happy tears followed, then a big group shot for memory’s sake. Family photos wrapped up before everyone wandered over to cocktail hour – time to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy the afternoon.
As the guests settled in, I stole Shaye and Fraser away for a few quick photos among the sunflowers. Then it was time to head inside for the long lunch. There were a few speeches before and after the meal, with a standout moment when Fraser’s parents turned their speech into a singalong of “All You Need Is Love.” It had everyone joining in.
The easy, relaxed vibe rolled right through the afternoon until it was time to cut the cake – a family tradition done with a sword passed down through generations, engraved with each couple’s names. A photo of the original cake-cutters sat nearby, tying it all together beautifully.
Then came the first dance. Halfway through, the DJ flipped it into a banger, guests piled onto the dance floor, and that’s when the real party kicked off. Their friends and family knew how to celebrate properly.
As the sun started to set, I stole the couple away one last time. The golden light was incredible – just the two of them, soaking it all in. Those moments were some of my favourites from the day.
By the time we returned, everyone was still laughing, chatting, and enjoying the last of the afternoon. The long lunch was winding down, with talk of heading to a nearby bar to keep the celebrations rolling.
Such a memorable day for a beautiful couple.
