Tegan and Nicholas wanted their wedding to feel like one big celebration that just so happened to include a ceremony. Safe to say, they absolutely nailed it.
I kicked off the morning with the girls getting ready. Hair and makeup were in full swing, spirits were high, and everyone was buzzing. After a few candid shots, I ducked over to a nearby apartment to find the boys. The banter was thick, nerves were kicking in, and Nicholas and his best man shared a quick nip of Johnny Walker to steady things. We grabbed a few relaxed photos with the boys, plus a really sweet moment with Nicholas and his mum, before I made my way back to the girls.
By then it was time for Tegan to step into her dress. It was a beautiful, quiet moment with just her mum and maid of honour helping. Once she was ready, she headed out to show her dad the dress, and she’d organised a special tie for him too, a really touching gesture. We grabbed a few photos of Tegan with her parents, then a few portraits of her on her own before it was time to head to Ancora.
Guests had gathered under the big tree overlooking the Tweed River, such a stunning spot for a ceremony. Tegan walked down the aisle with both her mum and dad beside her, and you could feel the emotion in the air. Nicholas especially was in awe. The ceremony was heartfelt with just the right balance of laughter and happy tears. They shared rings, sealed it with a kiss, and everyone erupted into cheers.
After they walked back down the aisle there were hugs everywhere, followed by a big group photo and some quick family shots. Guests headed off to cocktail hour while I took the bridal party for a wander around the venue for some relaxed photos. When we joined everyone again, it was straight into a champagne tower – always a good time – before everyone settled into drinks and canapés.
I’d noticed some dark clouds building, so I stole Tegan and Nicholas away for a few quiet portraits, just the two of them. A little pocket of calm before the party kicked off again.
When they returned, they entered the reception in true celebration mode – music pumping, guests cheering, the energy instantly lifted and straight into cake cutting. Speeches followed, full of love and a fair bit of roasting (the good kind). Then dinner followed their first dance. Halfway through, guests joined them, and once DJ Cassidy took over the music, the dancefloor came alive. These two have an incredible crew, everyone absolutely went for it.
Such a memorable day for such a beautiful couple.
