Margot & Shou’s autumn wedding at Midginbil Eco Resort was an absolute cracker of a day.
We kicked things off with Margot and her bridesmaids, and the vibe was all smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of excitement. Once Margot slipped into her stunning dress, we squeezed in some beautiful portraits before heading off to find Shou and his crew—who were doing their best to play it cool while definitely feeling those pre-ceremony nerves.
Their ceremony was held under that epic tree on the ridge, overlooking the mountains, and it honestly looked like something straight out of a painting. With their nearest and dearest watching on, Margot and Shou said their “I do’s” in a ceremony full of love, laughter, and a few happy tears. They made their way back down the aisle through a shower of confetti, straight into a sea of hugs and congratulations – officially married and grinning from ear to ear.
While the guests made their way down the hill for cocktail hour, the bridal party stuck around for some more fun (and hilarious) photos. Then it was time for them to join their guests, relax, grab a drink, and enjoy the vibe. It was such a good moment—no rushing, just a genuine chance to soak it all in with everyone they love. With cocktail hour about to transfer to the barn for reception, I quietly snuck Margot and Shou away for some couple photos as the sun dipped behind the mountains. That beautiful autumn light, a quiet moment just for them—absolute magic.
When we returned to the reception, the barn was looking incredible, decked out with gorgeous native flowers and homemade cakes that gave the space such a personal touch. They made their entrance to huge cheers and danced their way to the table, setting the tone for an epic night ahead.
Dinner was followed by speeches—plenty of roasting, lots of banter, and so many laughs—plus a surprise birthday cake for Shou that got the whole room buzzing. Then the band started to play – they were absolutely on fire and it didn’t take long for the dance floor to fill up with guests ready to party the night away.
After worrying about rain all week, the weather came through with the goods, and Margot & Shou’s day turned out absolutely perfect. What a celebration! 🥂✨🌳
