Party Meets Romance: Holly & Dom’s Wedding at Osteria Tweed Coast

Every year I get to capture a lot of weddings, and every now and then one comes along with that extra bit of magic. Sometimes it’s the couple, sometimes the venue, sometimes just the energy of the day. With Holly & Dom, it was all of the above – a party wrapped up in a wedding, overflowing with love.

I’ve known Dom for years from my old chef days, so when he reached out about shooting his wedding, I was stoked. His brief? “Not too traditional, more of a party that we get married at.” My favourite kind of wedding!!

The day kicked off with the girls getting ready – spirits high, laughter flowing, hair and makeup in full swing. I slipped in for some candid moments before heading off to find the boys. The banter was flying thick and fast, though you could see Dom quietly wrestling those pre-ceremony nerves. I never push the guys too much at this stage; most men hate having their photo taken, and I want them to save their best smiles for later.

Back with the girls, it was time for Holly’s dress to come on. A beautiful, emotional moment. Once she was ready, she joined her mum and bridal party, and we captured a few gorgeous shots before it was ceremony time.

The garden at Osteria was set, friends and family gathered, and the buzz of anticipation hung in the air. Holly entered with her parents by her side, and as they walked down the aisle, all eyes were on her – especially Dom. The ceremony was heartfelt, filled with warmth and just the right amount of laughter. After their “I do’s,” they sealed it with a kiss, signed the register, and walked back down the aisle together through a shower of confetti. Pure joy.

What followed was a wave of hugs and congratulations, a big group photo to mark the moment, and then family shots before the fun really kicked in. A champagne tower was poured, drinks and canapés flowed, and the garden turned into the perfect space for mingling.

As the sun began to dip, I whisked the bridal party away for some fun photos – plenty of laughs and energy – before stealing Holly & Dom away to Cabarita headland. The light was absolute magic, and every turn gave us a new backdrop. A photographer’s dream.

Back at Osteria, the bridal party made their grand entrance, followed by Holly & Dom to huge cheers. The speeches were equal parts heartfelt and hilarious – a perfect balance. Dinner was served, the cake was cut, and then came a quiet, beautiful moment: Holly & Dom’s first dance, just the two of them in the garden under the night sky.

But as soon as they returned inside, the music kicked up, and the dancefloor exploded. Everyone let loose, celebrating the newlyweds in true party style. Their friends and family really knew how to bring the energy, and it was the best ending to a truly unforgettable day.

Such a memorable wedding for such a beautiful couple. Holly & Dom, you nailed it.
