On Saturday I joined Steve & Steve (yes, it was confusing at first!) to photograph their wedding at Frida's Field, Nashua (Near Bangalow) Northern NSW.

It was a wonderfully relaxed affair, hardly following any traditional wedding conventions. They got ready together, there were no official bridesmaids or groomsmen,  they joined their nearest and dearest on the lawn for drinks before the ceremony. The set up for their ceremony was unconventional too, the guests chairs formed a circle with a gap to walk in. This meant after walking down the aisle together they were surrounded by everyone as they said their “I do’s”, so beautiful. It was also a perfect spring day so we managed to get everyone out onto the lawn outside for a team shot and groups followed by drinks in the afternoon sun. We slipped away at sunset for a couple of portraits, breaking convention again, it was just a loop of the garden and not a long posed session. Then it was all about eating the good food, more drinks, some heartfelt speeches and dancing in to the night.

It all ended up being a day where they spent maximum time hanging out with their friends and family and one of the most enjoyable weddings I’ve ever had the privilege to be part of – Happy days – I hope you enjoy their wedding story!
