It was so good to be at Midginbil Eco Resort to photograph a wedding again.

I was super excited for Kristy & Josh’s wedding as the weather turned out brilliantly – if not a bit warm, and it was an awesome day to be a part of. The whole aesthetic of Kristy & Josh’s day was very earthy, laid back and fun – this suits our style perfectly.

Midginbil Eco Resort has a pretty nice set up for preparation, having two separate locations connected via a shared backyard. Josh and his groomsmen got ready in one glamping tent, while Kristy and her bridal party got ready in the library. I spent the time  walking in-between both spots as things were always happening and I was using the  surrounds which included lush green trees and the classic architecture inside the lodge.

The huge fig tree just up the ridge of the Midginbil Eco Resort was where Kristy & Josh chose to hold their ceremony. It would have to be one of my favourite spots to take photos, the views go forever!

Their took place in the shady corner of the paddock, with a view of the nearby mountains. The ceremony itself was a lovely, simple affair with celebrant Renee telling stories of how the two met, their vows were personally written and heartfelt – and everyone was all smiles at the end walking through the confetti!

Once we had sorted all the group photos, and I had managed to corral all members of the bridal party for a shot I affectionately call ‘The Vouge Pose ’ as it looks like the cover of a magazine – and probably the most structured we get for photos. I always like to get the couple back in time to mingle with their guests at cocktail hour, so after a quick walk on the rolling hills halfway back to the barn we actually had plenty of time to mix and get some candid shots.

After the bridal party’s humorous introduction from Kristy’s son & his friend everyone settled in for a night full of fun, speeches, great food, Sambuca shots, lots of Sambuca shots and dancing.

Thanks so much to Kristy & Josh for having me. Congrats
