Olivia & Jordan | A Stylish Tweed Coast Wedding at Babalou
After 10 years together, or 9.5 according to Jordan, Olivia and Jordan finally made things official with a beautiful wedding surrounded by a small group of family and close friends who clearly mean the world to them.
The weather had other ideas for the original plans, with rain forcing the ceremony indoors at Babalou instead of the park across the road. Honestly though, it could not have suited the day better. Everything still came together perfectly and the indoor setting gave the whole celebration a really warm, lux feel.
My afternoon started with the boys at a beautiful nearby Airbnb where everyone was in the final stages of getting ready and looking sharp. Before I even made it inside, Buddah the dog greeted me at the door and made it very clear he intended on being part of the day too. He managed to sneak his way into as many photos as possible.
Once everyone was ready, we grabbed some relaxed shots with the boys before Jordan’s mum and dad helped him with his jacket and flower. A really nice little moment before the nerves properly kicked in.
Over at Peppers Balé Salt, Olivia and the girls were already dressed and ready to go when I arrived. Bella helped with the veil while final touches were happening, then Olivia pinned flowers onto her dad before we headed out for a few photos. We grabbed some shots with the bridesmaids, then a few portraits of Olivia on her own before making our way to the venue.
The ceremony may have shifted indoors, but nobody seemed to mind once the rain really started coming down outside. Jordan and the boys waited nervously at the altar while guests settled in. Then Olivia arrived with both her father and stepfather by her side, and all eyes were on her, especially Jordan’s.
Celebrant Tash shared their story beautifully, with the ceremony finding that perfect balance between heartfelt and relaxed. The mums brought the rings forward, vows were exchanged, and before long they sealed it with a kiss.
After signing the certificate with their grandmothers as witnesses, they made their way back down the aisle together to plenty of cheers from guests before rolling straight into hugs, congratulations, a big group photo, and family photos.
I checked the radar and realised we had a small window of clear weather, so we quickly headed across the park for bridal party photos before stealing Olivia and Jordan away for some portraits together. Somehow the timing worked out perfectly and we were even treated to a rainbow. Considering how the weather had looked earlier, I genuinely did not think we would get outside at all, so it felt like a bit of luck was on our side.
When we returned, guests had moved upstairs and the reception space had completely transformed. Molly and the team at Babalou did such a good job with the styling. Sophisticated but still relaxed and welcoming.
Jordan carried Olivia up the stairs and into the reception, which the guests absolutely loved. From there everyone settled in, mingled, and enjoyed the atmosphere before dinner kicked off.
Speeches followed later in the evening, with MC Neriessa bringing plenty of personality to the room. There were heartfelt words from parents, a fair bit of roasting from the groomsmen, and plenty of laughs mixed through it all.
They cut into a tiramisu for the cake before sharing their first dance, followed by dances with their parents. Not long after that the dancefloor filled up with light sticks, personalised glasses, and guests fully committing to a good time.
Such a fun group to spend the day with, and proof that sometimes the wet weather backup plan ends up being exactly what was meant to happen.
